INTRODUCTION “It’s late and you suddenly realize you’re lost in the fog that has materialized around your car. Seeing a light up ahead you let out a sigh of relief and relax . Groping your way up to the front of the house, you knock on an ancient door using the grotesquely carved door knocker. Slowly the door creaks open... you glance inside. In terror you turn to run! Too late... you find yourself looking down at a hand of cards you’ve been dealt, not remembering how you got to the table. If you win you get to go home. Lose and you join the other lost souls staring up at you from within the tables’ surface. No pressure here, just a friendly game of Hearts, with opponents you feel like you’ve known for an eternity.” THE ARTIST IMPart artist Stephen Blickenstaff is often asked, "How does a nice quiet guy like you create such weird and bizarre creatures?" Well, as a kid he fueled his crayon driven imagination by drawing anything that hopped, crawled, and flew out of the woods near his home. When he outgrew his collections of frogs, toads, spiders and other scalely pets he immersed himself in trashy 1950's and 60's Americana; including B-grade horror and science fiction movies, old cartoons and EC horror comics. "I've been drawing creatures from my imagination since I was old enough to draw", says Steve. And for years his pen has spawned a growing population of unearthly creatures --- with enough earthly appeal to land in magazines like 'Twist' and 'Guitar World', on album and CD covers like "The Cramps, Bad Music for Bad People" and 'Thin White Ropes' In the Spanish Cave'. Also active in the film industry, his work has appeared in such films as “Back to the Beach, “Gleaming the Cube, “Parenthood, “The Heavenly Kid, ” and the box-office smash “Wayne’s World.” Television audiences have experienced his creatures via MTV and Fox’s “21 Jumpstreet.” Kitchen Sink Press, one of the leading publishers of comics and graphic novels, has signed an agreement with IMPart Inc. to serve as its master licensing agent for artist Stephen Blickenstaff’s SCREAMSAVERS® and SCREAM’OSAURS™, properties based upon the hot new screensaver software produced by Binary Software. Screamsavers® software features 17 of Blickenstaff’s 72 “unearthly creatures” performing their animated antics -- ghoulish, disembodied faces that literally drip, belch, ooze and slime. With the creation of the SKELETON CREW module for the FreeVerse Software HEARTS DELUXE™ game IMPart hopes to infect an even greater segement of the population with the effects of Stephen Blickenstaff’s sensibilities. YOUR OPPONENTS Bo will keep his eyes on you! Ever the negativist he's looking to bury the Queen or some bloody hearts around. Prefering to avoid taking tricks, voids are his favorite. Cagey and conservative. Skelly will drive you MAD. Calling himself an expert but often seems to have lost his brain. Don't look to him for any support. He's never ready to step in block others strategies, at his own expense. Strictly the opportunist. Bonita deserves careful observation. She's lost none of her "edge" in death. Loving to play from strength and dictate the game to her own ends. Loose the lead to her and you may be powerless to control your own destiny. Depending on your own style, any one of your opponents could be the "best." The Big Pitch: The set of Opponents "Bo-Skelly & Bonita" was created by José Rosapepe, Steve Blickenstaff and Ken Jacobson , ©IMPart Inc.1995 and is original artwork.
